Jay Reatard's sophomore album is trimmed with all the trappings of lo-fi cool, but once you get past his hip arsenal of aural accoutrements, Watch Me Fall begins to unfold with an emphasis on carefully crafted melodies and arrangements that are much less predictable than the 1-4-5 structures dotting many of his early singles. Without completely segueing into indie-pop, Reatard maintains a balance of his original filthy Memphis grit with tunes that would translate well if covered by more polished commercial bands.

i see a lot of brand new copy for sale these time, is there a reissue of something ? Reply Notify me Helpful.

Blood Visions is the debut studio album by American punk rock singer and songwriter Jay Reatard, formerly of the Reatards. The track, "Oh It's Such a Shame" has been covered by Deerhunter (for the "Fluorescent Grey/Oh, It's Such a Shame" split single) and more recently by Arcade Fire during their support tour for The Suburbs. Just prior to Jay Reatard's death in 2010, he sold the rights to the record to Fat Possum Records, after which In the Red Records ceased production and distribution of the record.

Following up two viscerally powerful singles collections, Jay Reatard settles back into long-form with Watch Me Fall, an equally commanding album that settles on his best impulses (an edacious ear for variety, genre-hopping finesse and speed) while also neatening them up a bit. This is a process that was already beginning on Matador Singles ‘08, and one that Reatard has been inching toward since he began recording fierce bursts of frenetic punk-rock at the age of 18. That spirit of coarseness is maintained here, but it’s imbued with a wider focus and a mature sense of patience (there are no s. .What the album lacks in grungy bite it makes up for in pop sensibility, with songs that, as a whole, are more controlled, mature, and catchy than anything he’s done before.

Punk-rock enfant terrible Jay Reatard has taken care to craft a proper album. He's best known as a master of short-'n'-snappy 7-inch fuzz bombs – and, locally, as the chap who interrupted a show at the Silver Dollar last year to punch out one of his own fans – but punk-rock enfant terrible Jay Reatard (alias Jay Lindsey) has taken care to craft a proper album. Shouty nihilism delivered at a torrid pace remains the Memphis one-man band's fallback mode

I’m Watching You Lyrics.

For the front cover of his second ion album, Jay Reatard has switched from the art-house horror look of standing in an empty void of white studio space, in his little red pants, covered in obviously fake blood, to the classic horror look of The Shining's unsettling maze chase scene. While he looks confused fronting debut ‘Blood Visions’, here he stares out from ‘Watch Me Fall’ menacingly, clutching the front of his coat with a white spectral hand, in a smoky aura of cold self hatred.

Be alerted when Jay Reatard - Watch Me Fall (Vinyl LP) is back in stock. Please verify that you are a Human. Notify me when in stock. For his second solo studio album and proper Matador debut, Memphis prolific punk wunderkind Jay Reatard moved beyond his roots and recorded an album chock-full of irresistible melodies, the songs cascading with joyous hooks
