The untitled seventh studio album by German Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein, also referred to eponymously as Rammstein, was released through Universal Music on 17 May 2019. Their first studio album in ten years, it is their first not to be produced by Jacob Hellner; instead, it was produced by Emigrate band member Olsen Involtini. The album was preceded by two singles, "Deutschland" and "Radio", the former becoming their second number-one song in Germany. Ausländer" was released as a single on 31 May.
Rammstein was formed in 1993 by an assembly of factory-weary proletarians raised in East Germany. They took their name (adding an "m") from the location of a German tragedy where 80 people were hurt and killed as the result of a crash during an American Air Force flight show. The literal translation of "ram stein" is a battering ram made of stone. The band's first album, Herzeleid (Heartache), built on the grounds created by the band's live reputation. Scaling the German charts (and remaining there until the release of the second Rammstein LP some two years later), the album also introduced the band to the world outside of the Austria region. As Rammstein's second album, Sehnsucht (Longing), was released, the band was headlining throughout Europe to crowds of 10,000 to 30,000 people.
Dec 5, 2012 The Rammstein retrospective MADE IN GERMANY 1995-2011 is released on 2/12/2011, immediately entering the German charts at 1 and going platinum in the first week of sales. Platinum status in Finland and gold status in Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Czech Republic and Denmark follow shortly after. Du Riechst So Gut – (4:33). Mein Herz Brennt – (4:40).
Most interesting is a beautiful take of the song stripped down to just vocalist Till Lindemann and a lone piano-a rare quiet moment in a band defined by loud. Mein Herz brennt - EP Rammstein.
