Bud Powell in Paris is a studio album by jazz pianist Bud Powell, recorded in Paris for Reprise in February 1963 and released in 1964. It was produced by Duke Ellington. Bud Powell's Moods is a studio album by jazz pianist Bud Powell, released in 1956 by Norgran, featuring sessions that Powell recorded in 1954 and 1955. The album was re-issued by Verve, and released as a CD replica by Verve (Japan) in 2006 (POCJ-2740).

Earl Rudolph "Bud" Powell (September 27, 1924 – July 31, 1966) was an American jazz pianist. Though Thelonious Monk was a close friend and influence, his greatest piano influence was Art Tatum. Along with Charlie Parker, Monk, and Dizzy Gillespie, Powell was a leading figure in the development of modern jazz, or bebop. His virtuosity led many to call him the Charlie Parker of the piano

Bud in Paris is an album by jazz pianist Bud Powell, originally released on Xanadu Records in 1975, containing non-studio recordings made of Powell in Paris between December 1959 and October 1960. It is not to be confused with the 1964 Reprise recording, Bud Powell in Paris. The first session on the disc (tracks 1-2), from 14 February 1960, is a duet between Powell and Johnny Griffin on tenor. The next session (tracks 3-6), from 12 December 1959, features Barney Wilen on tenor with Powell, Pierre Michelot (bass), and Kenny Clarke (drums).

That in itself should have sapped the energy of the trio, yet they are fresh and playing at peak on the seven original and two bonus tracks from the same session on this album. Also, I can only speculate on what Duke Ellington's presence and direction as producer did to influence the music.
