At the time, he said that he didn't know how he was going to release his new material. Is it gonna be an album? Is it gonna be two albums? Is it gonna be released as individual tracks?" he asked rhetorically. That's sort of sounding a lot more attractive to me nowadays rather than trying to make a record, a full album of stuff. Geoff will celebrate the 30th-anniversary of QUEENSRŸCHE's landmark "Empire" album on a special tour next year. Released in 1990, the set included the hit ballad "Silent Lucidity", which reached No. 9 on the Billboard singles chart, helped propel "Empire" to No. 7 on the album chart and earned two Grammy Award nominations.

Geoff Tate is the eponymous solo debut from Queensrÿche vocalist Geoff Tate. It was released on DVD-Audio in 2003 and DualDisc in 2004. Tate followed up this work ten years later with 2012's Kings & Thieves. In contrast of the heavy metal of Queensrÿche, the album explored a variety of other genres such as dance-pop, electronica, and adult contemporary.

Although this borrowed title may have been too long in an industry where hashtag-ability is now a concern, in truth it captures the book’s scope and ambition perfectly  . The return of Geoff Dyer: ‘I’m incredibly competitive’.

Geoff Tate the album is most certainly not going to be confused for a Queensrÿche album. Instead of representing the cutting-edge form of metal for which Queensrÿche is famous, Tate has given listeners an album that is very non-metal. Its style, like Rÿche's, is often undefinable and, much like the band's work, covers a wide range of musical approaches. However, the closest you can come to a description of this album is probably a modern pop-oriented rock sound. It is, as one would expect, thoughtful in texture

A hypnotic sublime listen into minimal micro techno - at it's best! Intelligent and catchy with a simple music design, though not simplistic music! This minimal approach delivers music with a nice feeling of spaced separation between its catchy micro dub rhythms, triggered techno hooks and sweeps, and flowing vapour like ambience that together bring a warm and spacious flowing feel to the album with even feeling of tranquility. Tracks are mostly deep & at downtempo pace, though with a couple of tracks, in the middle, adding a more tech-funk element giving the album a nice peak at the right time while keeping within the micro minimalism framework. The CD, probably the best version to get, with its two extra quality tracks that are unfortunately missing from vinyl version which hasn't got the excellent deep and immersive 'Twitl' track! For me this album certainly sits up-there with Force Inc label(sadly missed) best - that could very well become a much sorted album in the future, so grab it while you can!Be sure to check Geoff White/Stewart Walker 'Discord' album too.

A fairly successful fusion of house with the dub-techno style, sounds a bit like MRI's All that glitters. Also bears comparison with some of Matthew Herbert's work. Didn't like this CD so much initially but it has grown on me and conclude it is a good record; try Elting Lieb's 'Disturbedances' though for a more successful go at a dub-tech-house sound.

This is as good as it gets in the world of minimal house, micro-house, dub-tek or whatever name they're labelling it now days. Its music that has that special something extra that makes it both memorable, exciting and interesting with each subsequent listen, and most importantly it has oodles of that one special ingredient that so many of these types of producer's can't seem to find enough of .....funk!
