Trans-Europe Express (German: Trans Europa Express) is the sixth studio album by German electronic music band Kraftwerk. Recorded in mid-1976 in Düsseldorf, Germany, the album was released in March 1977 on Kling Klang Records. It saw the group refine their melodic electronic style, with a focus on sequenced rhythms, minimalism, and occasionally manipulated vocals.

Trans Europa Express was the first Kraftwerk album to be mixed in two entirely separate versions, one in German, the other in English. Most German pressings (as well as the 2009 remastered reissues) list 'Metall Auf Metall' as two separate tracks, the second part entitled 'Abzug'.

Trans-Europe Express is the sixth studio album by electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk. It was released in March 1977 through their own record label Kling Klang Records. The sound Kraftwerk explored in Trans-Europe Express could be best described as electronic blues

Trans-Europe Express" (German: "Trans Europa Express") is the title song from the Kraftwerk album Trans-Europe Express and is the fourth on the album. It was later remixed with eleven other songs on the remix album, The Mix. The music was written by Ralf Hütter, and the lyrics by Hütter and Florian Schneider. The track is ostensibly about the Trans Europ Express rail system, with technology and transport both being common themes in Kraftwerk's oeuvre.

Album: Trans-Europe Express (1977). Charted: 67. Get the Sheet Music License This Song. The title track of Kraftwerk's 1977 album of the same name, this contributed to the ongoing mutual appreciation society formed by David Bowie and the German electronic band in the late 1970s. The bond started when Bowie borrowed some of Kraftwerk's ideas on their 22-minute epic "Autobahn" for his Station to Station album. They included the title track beginning with an electronically generated impression of a chugging train.

Listen free to Kraftwerk – Trans-Europe Express (Europe Endless, The Hall of Mirrors and more). Critics have described the album as having two specific themes: celebration of Europe and the disparities between reality and image.

Synths are doing all the work on this album without the acoustic and electric instruments that were occasionally in evidence on "Autobahn". For me the album has many high spots, but I love the audio pun that extends the idea first tried out so successfully with "Autobahn" - Trans Europa Express/Metall auf Metal/Abzug.
