Delightful little four tracker from the new Warm Up Recordings signee, Alderaan. Different strokes for different folks, as the producer churns out a little masterpiece across both sides, suitable for a specific corner of the fairly large techno spectrum.Angelic Particles is a heaven sent techno banger. My Lord, you'll have a hard time believing that this was achieved by a relative newcomer. Superb, tough as nails drum programming, fully swinging bass line and abundant little effects and tricks tipping things over the top by the 03:30 mark.Wholly blown techno assault of the highest caliber, and just when you thought it would not reach the intensity level set by the track's first half, it comes back full circle for another completely fledged, climax driven crescendo, that erupts at the 05:30 point and drives the music to its epic conclusion. What a superbly driving, functional and rich piece of peak time techno. Absolutely loving this one. Needs & deserves massive support.Parallax hits the sweet spot as well. Again, tight percussion and booming response from the bass department sets the stage for fiery, crystalline, cascading effects sounding like a large, vintage chandelier was getting struck by wind, making its miniature parts fluctuate along. The Oscar Mulero remix is not as intense as the A side numbers. But it is a noteworthy combination though. Combining mournful piano licks (think Spying from DVS1) and spherical, echo-heavy overtones engulfing the linear, moderately paced drum kicks. Four to the hazy floor percussion pattern applied, but the tune's overall feel makes it more suitable for the foggier, early in the morning hours unlike the testosterone fueled predecessors. The last cut is on the verge of the so called drone techno aesthetic, although with more pulse I'd dare say. A bouncing rhythm invigorates the rather wailing layers of sound that steadily protrude from the track's abyss and then gradually take over by placing themselves comfortably at the forefront. The progression is nice, as the music evolves from a dark cave into a more elaborate, textured structures, with emphasized sci-fi elements.Overall, a very balanced EP, with an increasingly addictive and undeniably effective A side. Seriously now, any one of the two cuts deserve massive air play, while the B side might be more reserved - pace wise - yet still packing a punch for the special, zoned out occasion. Alderaan is a name I'd keep an eye out on.
