It's All Right" is a 1963 song recorded by The Impressions and written by the group's lead singer, Curtis Mayfield. The single was the most successful chart entry of the group's career. It's All Right" was one of two top-ten singles for the group on the Billboard Hot 100, and the first of six number ones on the Billboard R&B chart. It also reached number one on the Cash Box R&B chart. The song features in the films Angels in the Outfield, The Flamingo Kid, and in the TV miniseries Stephen King's It.
Mayfield was a prolific composer. In addition to writing or co-writing almost all of the hit singles he had as a member of The Impressions and as a solo artist, Mayfield also wrote (and sometimes produced) numerous hits for other artists. The following is a list of chart hits, arranged chronologically, that were written (or co-written) by Curtis Mayfield and performed by artists other than Mayfield and/or The Impressions

About It's All Right lyrics. Album People Get Ready (1990). When you wake up early in the morning Feelin' sad like so many of us do Hum a little soul Make life your goal And surely something's got to come to you And say it's all right (it's all right) Say it's all right (it's all right). It's all right, have a good time 'Cause it's all right, whoa, it's all right Now everybody clap your hands Give yourself a chance You got soul, and everybody knows That it's all right, whoa, it's all right. Someday I'll find me a woman Who will love and treat me real nice Then my woe's got to go And.
Not that Mayfield couldn’t do it all. His arsenal is stacked with doo-wop toe tappers, soulful ballads, disco floor-fillers and yearning blues jams, all scattered across the body of work of an artist who embraced the 12-inch parameters of the LP. Curtis made cohesive, functioning albums. Many are classics, some are just very, very good. All are worth your attention. Mayfield connects past and present with the left hook, right cross combination of socially engaged Impressions throwback Keep On Keepin’ On and grisly funk of Underground. It’s impossible to summarize 1970s American woes in a single album. Mayfield gave it a shot anyway.
