The discography of Weather Report, an influential American jazz band with a career lasting sixteen years between 1970 and 1986, consists of fourteen studio albums, three live albums, eleven compilation albums, five singles, one B-side, and six video albums. Weather Report's self-titled debut album Weather Report, released in 1971, caused a sensation in the jazz world and is still considered a classic of early fusion. It was awarded Album of the Year by Down Beat magazine’s polls that year.

WEATHER REPORT - The Collection (CD) 5013428732441. Weather Report" is the eponymously titled 10th full-length studio album by US jazz/fusion act Weather Report. The album was originally released through Columbia Records in February 1982. It's the second self-titled album in the group's discography as their debut full-length studio album, released in 1971, was also a self-titled affair. Weather Report" is the last album to feature the rythm section of bassist Jaco Pastorius and drummer Peter Erskine. The music on the album is unmistakably the sound of Weather Report

Album, 1982, Columbia Records, Sony Music. Part 1 : 41st Parallel.

Jaco went on to perform with Weather Report until 1982. During that span, the group produced six albums – five studio and one (mostly) live double album – including Black Market (1976), Heavy Weather (1977), Mr. Gone (1978), 8:30 (1979), Night Passage (1980) and Weather Report (1982). Black Market features Jaco on just two tracks, with Alphonso Johnson on the rest. Columbia has gathered up these Jaco-era albums for a new box set, Weather Report: The Columbia Albums 1976-1982. Each of the six albums is packaged in LP replica sleeves. The set includes 12 bonus tracks, including all of the tunes.

Granted, one of them is his own Barbary Coast, but I the fact that this empty technical showboating made it onto the album as being a fairly clear symptom of the weakness of the songwriting this time around.

Weather Report is one of the most important and significant bands in Jazz music. The band's permanent members were keyboardist Joe Zawinul and saxophonist Wayne Shorter both of whom had previously worked with Miles Davis. Between 1971 and 1986, Zawinul and Shorter employed a revolving door of bass players, drummers and percussionists thoughout their band's exsistance
