Adna: I think it’s the story that’s been told, there’s no reason really. I decided to make a full album when I was 16/17 or something, and I’d written so many songs. I like working with a concept, like having a theme for a record but I was just writing whatever when I was 17. And nothing was really put together properly. Then I’d have to study and work. I studied freelancing when I was 18, the day was too short. So now it’s like the way I know how to work. Now I really like it, because it’s so calm and quiet. KALTBLUT: What or who are you influenced by? Adna: I listen to a lot of different music. Anything that makes me feel something, I love it.
After the release of her last album Run, Lucifer Adna toured all over Europe and has had a lot of inspiration and time to reflect on her live performance. She currently lives in Berlin and has spent the first half of this year writing and recording her third full length album Closure planned for release in March 2017 which will be followed by a new tour. The brand new single; Overthinking is the first single taken off of that album and we hear Adna dig deeper into her own past and her own darkness than ever before
Adna is the solo project of the 19-year-old Swedish artist Adna Kadic. Despite her young age, Adna has already relased an EP, performed on important stages and gained critical acclaim for her work. Night is her first album, 9 dark, dreamy-pop tracks that were recorded in just five nights. As cliché as it may sounds, it is indeed music from and for the night, with chilling tunes and Adna‘s low voice, a relaxing lullaby that won’t shy away from moments of louder pathos, like on The Prettiest. The album mixes with great care acoustic elements, electronics and it’s not unlikely to hear some.
Following the release, Adna began to earn sonic comparisons to the work of artists such as the xx, Bon Iver, and Florence + the Machine. She spent the following years writing and recording further songs, sporadically releasing several singles before a remix EP, Memento Mori, arrived in 2015. The effort featured reworkings of her material from fellow artists such as Eternal Death and DÖDEN. In 2014 she put out her first album Night, also via Despotz. She returned in 2015 with a cover of Ry X's track "Berlin" before releasing the live EP Smoke. 2015 saw the arrival of her sophomore LP, Run, Lucifer.
