Lyrics to "On My One" song by Jake Bugg: I'm just a poor boy from Nottingham I had my dreams But in this world they're gone, they're gone Oh. .Oh, I'm so lonesome on my one. Everytime has a stranger when I'm around No sins forgiven, hell spit me out Where's God, where's God? He's even left me on my one Where's God, where's God? He's even left me on my one. I'm just a poor boy from Nottingham I had my dreams But in this world they're gone, they're gone I'm oh so lonesome on my one Oh, I'm so lonesome on my one. Submit Corrections. Album · 2016 · 11 Songs. As principal songwriter, and after early consultation with producer Rick Rubin and Beastie Boys’ Mike . On My One is filled with deeper personal strata and a range of musical styles. Gimme the Love and Ain’t No Rhyme, with beats and rap-singing informed by hip-hop and electronic music, signals a confident leap outside of his comfort zone.
I immediately felt shivers rush down my spine as I thought of his nasally voice and self-righteousness over the fact that he grew up on a council estate. Great stuff mate, gave it a listen on the way here and it’s the best album I’ve heard all year. This is real music, none of that over-produced guff. I thought he was joking at first but the sad look of sincerity in his eyes told me otherwise. On My One was an awful experience not because it was the worst album I had ever heard or because Jake is an inadequate musician but because it was just so boring. It’s very clear Jake has potential and when he continuously squanders it like this by making music of the lowest common denominator to appeal to the widest demographic, you can’t help but be frustrated.

The first single from Jake Bugg's third album finds him feeling lonely and alienated as he travels roams the globe playing his songs. Three years on the road, 400 shows Where do I call home I'm so lonesome on my one. Jake Bugg recalled: "One day I picked up my guitar, started strumming and those words just came out as they were. There's a lot of that sentiment on the album which is why it works as a title. Jake Bugg explained the title of this bluesy track to Q magazine: "It's a phrase we say in Nottingham for being left alone - 'You left me on my one, bro!'" This is one of several songs on the On My One album with a bluesy feel. Whether it's soul or hip-hop, it all stems from the blues. To me the blues just means singing your emotions and expressing your pain so others can feel it. That's the beauty of music.
