The song was included on Rogers' extended play from 1964, which was also titled The Wedding, and has appeared on various compilation albums in the years since its release. Joaquín Prieto, a Chilean musician, wrote a song in Spanish in 1958 that he called "La novia" ("The bride").
After the wedding, just before the Bride talks to her cousin, the women are humming a song, "Despierte la novia, despierte" (Let's wake up the bride). They are actually humming the song used in Carlos Saura's movie "Bodas de sangre" (Blood wedding), which is, as "La novia", inspired by the play of Federico García Lorca. The groom chases the unfaithful bride on a BMW R25/2, formerly seen in the film with a sidecar. When he arrives, he rides an unidentified motorcycle (could it be a BSA?) which stalls.
