On January 5 '86, Prince, Eric, Sheila and Levi returned to the studio once more, this time with Wendy & Lisa, and Wendy's brother, Jonathan Melvoin. They recorded another 6 tracks: "Groove In C Minor". Slow Groove In G Major". Groove In G Flat Minor". Y'all Want Some More". On January 22 '86 Prince assembled an album by "The Flesh" entitled Junk Music which consisted of the following tracks: Side one. "Junk Music". Side two. "Up From Below".
Prince interview as posted in the October 1998 issue of Guitar World. Representatives of the Artist arrange for a meeting - a secret rendezvous - between myself and the gifted one at The Hit Factory in New York City. RICHARD PRINCE: Hey, Kim. How are you? GORDON: I’m okay, I guess. How are you? PRINCE: I’m all right. And they still reminded me of my hand-written jokes, in ’86, when I first started making jokes, writing them out by hand on pieces of paper, that kind of simplicity, I wasn’t sure if I was able to have that again in my life, and I felt that these band painting reminded me of that moment. And then, of course, the hand-written jokes turned into something that became very agreeable and I continue to work with the subject matter; the subject matter never seems to get old or stale.
