Prince 3121 on 777. William Parsons. Prince fans waiting for the Target Center's doors to open for the second Prince show! Категория.

3121 is the first track on Prince's 31st studio album 3121.

His 1979 album Prince went platinum, and his next three albums-Dirty Mind (1980), Controversy (1981), and 1999 (1982)-continued his success, showcasing his prominently explicit lyrics and blending of funk, dance, and rock music. In 1984, he began referring to his backup band as The Revolution and released Purple Rain, the soundtrack album to his film debut. It quickly became his most critically and commercially successful release, spending 24 consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200 and selling 25 million copies worldwide  . The immediate success of 3121 gave Prince his first No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 with the album.

For You is the debut studio album by American recording artist Prince. It was released by Warner Bros. Records on April 7, 1978. Prince started recording in September 1977 at Sound 80 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he had previously made a demo. Friend and producer David Rivkin (later known as David Z) provided advice and engineering assistance.

Like its predecessor, 3121 is tight and concise, offering 12 songs in 53 minutes, and it's classically structured, emphasizing shifting moods and textures between songs. It is an album, not a collection of songs, and you could even call it old-fashioned, but it feels fresher than Musicology, as if Prince had listened to enough Neptunes productions to understand how they've absorbed his music.

Prince’s first album For You was released by Warner in 1978 and got stuck at on Billboard’s Pop Chart. Later Prince said that For You didn’t reflect him as a person. It was too mechanical and recorded after too many sessions on very little sleep. Another Prince album, another single-eyed stare. Photographer Afshin Shahidi layered this pensive shot of Prince over grey branches. At this time, Shahidi was the artist’s photographer of choice. You can see in Prince’s style evolution different collaborators that pop up, stick around for a while, and then fade away. The meaning behind 3121 was never made explicitly clear but it’s suspected to refer to Psalm 31:21, Praise be to the Lord, for he showed me the wonders of his love when I was in a city under siege. At the 2006 BET Awards, while performing a track from Prince said, Where’s the real party at? Shake your tambourines!
