Their eighth studio album, Defend Yourself, came out on Joyful Noise Recordings on September 17, 2013. It debuted at No. 1 on the "New Alternative Artists" Billboard chart, since the band had been together for roughly 27 years at that point in time. On March 1, 2019 the band announced that their ninth studio album Act Surprised will be released on May 24, 2019 via Dangerbird Records Discography. Main article: Sebadoh discography.

Years later, Sebadoh has reemerged with Defend Yourself, an album that's better defined than many of its earlier, looser works. Barlow handles most of the songs, with Jason Loewenstein his only foil. Eric Gaffney and Bob Fay weren’t brought back. The breakup of Barlow’s 25-year marriage has surely added some psychic weight, and songs like Love You Here, State of Mine, Listen," and Let It Out ache with earnest pop melodies. Dinosaur Jr. bassist Lou Barlow found his own voice with Sebadoh in the late '80s and early '90s, emerging as a surprisingly good brokenhearted balladeer. Considering the noise level of Dino Jr. songs, it was a shock to hear Barlow bear his heart in such open and honest ways. Years later, Sebadoh has reemerged with Defend Yourself, an album that's better defined than many of its earlier, looser works.

Fourteen years since their last full-length, The Sebadoh, Lou Barlow and Jason Loewenstein return with a new album. It's home-recorded and far less slick than its 1999 predecessor and shows how much has changed for the band since their 90s heyday. Featured Tracks: Play Track. State of Mine" - Sebadoh Via SoundCloud. Lou Barlow 's best work comes after break-ups, or when he's yearning for something he doesn't have

Led by once and future Dinosaur Jr. bassist Lou Barlow, Sebadoh blazed through the '90s helping to define movements in both indie rock and lo-fi music with their often confused and always ramshackle albums of stoner punk anthems, goofball non sequiturs, and moody, heartbroken post-grunge guitar rock. Following a 14-year dormancy since 1999's lackluster The Sebadoh, Defend Yourself revitalizes the project with surprisingly few huge changes. Barlow's most serious tunes are still marked by his signature ache, this time informed by the breakup of his 25-year marriage.

Best songs on the album are: i will, love you here, oxygen, let it out, listen and state of mind. But yes this is no music for macho guy's, but there's lot's of emotions in this music. Frustration, release, love, disapointment, happiness, hunger fo. .and so on Thanks for the tab effort. Still hope some people will try to make tabs of sebadoh's new album Defend yourself. To tab makers and indy lovers: listen to i will, let it out, oxygen love you here. Sure you will find it fun to play.

Defend Yourself marks a return to the self-recorded DIY ethos of early Sebadoh albums (Sebadoh III, Bakesale), and material from the Defend Yourself sessions has been hailed as commensurate with Sebadoh's finest moments. This album is fantastic - I have listened about 10 times and the music gets better. Lou Barlow really has an extra emotional edge on this album and Lowenstein is just pure garage punk rock N roll - punch you right in the mouth. The music is pure and produced to perfection - its so nice to hear music that sounds like rock N roll instruments are supposed to sound like - not over-produced compressed crap from major labels. The first track "I Will" will give you goose bumps and make you cry and then motivated you - all in one track.
