Here in After is the second album by Immolation. It was released on February 13, 1996 through Metal Blade Records after the band was dropped from Roadrunner Records. This is the last album to feature drummer Craig Smilowski; Alex Hernandez joined the band on their 1999 release, Failures for Gods. Ross Dolan – vocals, bass. Craig Smilowski – drums. Robert Vigna – lead guitar. Thomas Wilkinson – rhythm guitar. Brian J Ames – design. Wayne Dorell – engineering, mixing, producer.

Here in After sees Immolation stepping slightly left of the Dawn of Possession debut, and it is perhaps the point at which the Yonkers outfit could really be dubbed a distinct entity in the field. That's not to say that I enjoyed this more than the debut, but structurally it's a more interesting and individualistic piece that abandons more traditional choices for truly atonal, creepy guitars, wedges of dissonance and unexpected melody, and grooving transitions that arrive like waves of black ichor lapping at an abyssal shoreline. The payoff is very high, but this is the last album I'd recommend to someone when introducing them to the band for the first time. Right from the opening strains of "Nailed To Gold", you can tell that this is no ordinary death metal album.

HISTORY Let me introduce you to this death-metal band called Immolation, formed back in New York in the year of 1986. This band is playing death-metal as I said in old-school version, this band plays death-metal in the same area as bands like Morbid Angel and Death for example. A thing that makes this band a bit unique is the half-crazy riffage which is used in their music, the guitar work does not have this kind of ''repeated riffs'' which some bands has. I mean that other bands uses few and more simplistic riffs and/or shredds which are played in a fast pace. ALBUM INFORMATION I guess that you read my own explanation so you have a small idea how this band might sound like, this album is called ''Here In After'' and here is a short description of the overall album sound. The vocal style is of course growling but the vocals are performed in calm tempo and the vocals are the same in all of the songs.

This is an album of pure death metal, while earlier efforts still contained significant components of the thrash metal sound of the 1980s. The bending, winding pinch harmonic riffs that characterized Dawn of Possession are still abundant, but songs are now much more complex and harmonically dense. Rather than defining melody through single-string tremolo-picking, Immolation prefer a more rhythmic sense of composition. Dissonant chords are repeatedly used as emphasis over blastbeats, before everything slows to a gloomy crawl.

Immolation - Here in After 8 songs lyrics: Nailed To Gold, Burn With Jesus, Here In After, I Feel Nothing, Away From God, Towards Earth, Under The Supreme, Christ's Cage.

Produced by Immolation & Wayne Dorell. Here in After Lyrics. In a timeless void of anguish Where sorrow is like breathing And with every breath I hurt more and more. The fallen and trampled Damned to spend eternity here. Constant burning souls In a sea of writhing flesh Endless plains Of sin and deprivation
