Album The Brothers Four. Once there were greenfields Kissed by the sun Once there were valleys where rivers used to run Once there were blue skies with white clouds high above Once they were part of an everlasting love We were the lovers Who strolled through greenfields. Greenfields are gone now Parched by the sun Gone from the valleys where rivers used to run Gone with the cold wind that swept into my heart Gone with the lovers who let their dreams depart Where are the greenfields that we used to roam?

The Brothers Four is an American folk singing group, founded in 1957 in Seattle, Washington, known for their 1960 hit song "Greenfields". Bob Flick, John Paine, Mike Kirkland, and Dick Foley met at the University of Washington, where they were members of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity in 1956 (hence the "Brothers" appellation).

The Brothers Four were one of the best of the harmony groups in the Folk Era, and this album demonstrates their practically perfect arrangements and beautiful way of having their voices come together that must have taken many hours of practice; a very professional group. Their resulting sound was one of the warmest and mellowest in folk music. The songs include their biggest hit, Greenfields, and it's amazing how gentle and quiet this song is, especially considering that it went to on the pop charts  . This electronic version removed some songs I found on the CD with the same image of the album.
