Brick Top: And when you got your six pieces, you gotta get rid of them, because it's no good leaving it in the deep freeze for your mum to discover, now, is it? Then I hear the best thing to do is feed them to pigs. You got to starve the pigs for a few days, then the sight of a chopped-up body will look like curry to a pisshead.
It's one of the weirdest Motown records ever. Gaye's divorce settlement required him to make a new album and pay the royalties to his ex-wife – the sister of Motown boss Berry Gordy. It's sad to think back on how fresh this record sounded at the time – funny and hip, revivalist but forward-looking. Winehouse, a tatted 23-year-old with a beehive crown, matched the spirit of her R&B heroes, cussing, cracking wise and casually breaking your heart. She triggered a new era for brilliantly weird women in pop.

14 yr old friendly user. In terms of music theory, you are correct 100%. But the way they play, the way they put all these amazing instruments and together sound great. It still boggles my mind. Beat rock and rock and roll basically sound like Beatles or Pink Floyd's first album. All of it is 50s and 60s genres. It's really so very outdated to the music of today, I don't mean it in a bad way, I listen to that style over often. Thanks for lending your ears fella.
