Pulse Emitter's chord changes and washes of texture overtake each session as seismic shifts, steering his fields of sound down new paths that seem to loop back onto themselves in endless helixes of melodic activity. Hausu Mountain is a record label founded in 2012 by Doug Kaplan and Max Allison. We release music on vinyl, cassette, CD, and here on Bandcamp.

Here’s Pleistocene, a super rare Pulse Emitter album from 2004. Re-released today, unmastered in its original form.

Pulse Emitter has released albums on acclaimed labels such as Immune, Beer On The Rug, Constellation Tatsu, Aguirre, Root Strata, NNA, and Ultra Eczema, and has toured dates and festivals in Europe and North America. Music critic David Keenan has said, No one is making synth music that feels so organic, so rapturous and so ‘in tune’ with the contours of outer and inner space as Groetsch.

A classically trained musician, Pulse Emitter (the project of Daryl Groetsch) began experimenting with electronic music in the late 1990’s, just before moving to Portland, Oregon. These shifts in process and instrumentation are emblematic of Pulse Emitter’s progression as a project, discovering new ways to develop expansive tapestries of sound.

Album cover of 'Mugen Vol. 9: Pulse Emitter/Brett Naucke'. Tomorrow, February 24, Hausu Mountain will release Mugen Vol. 9, this time culled from solo sessions by the prolific Portland composer Pulse Emitter and the Chicago experimentalist Brett Naucke. Each have used their solo work to explore the interstellar realms of synthesis, but for their Mugen pieces each chose to go a little more earthbound
