Live Champs! is a live album by Danny And The Champions Of The World released on 29th September 2014 by Loose Music. In a way it’s the ultimate Champs album. says Danny and we have to agree. However, this hits package captures what the studio recordings can’t quite convey – the raw passion and high energy of a Champs live show
The difference between Live Champs! and their studio work is marked. Each previous LP has been enjoyable, but each has also felt constrained; almost as if the band were trying to fit their sound into a neat package onto which someone else had already written a label. Danny and his Champs may never get rich from their music.
Wilson and his band, Danny & The Champions Of The World, spent much of 2014 on the road, playing shows all over the world, the kind of legendary, life-affirming rock and soul revues (with country fringing) that have seduced them a global following, and which they finally committed to wax on last year’s glorious concert double-album, Live Champs! When their touring schedule drew to a close at the end of the year, you might have thought Wilson and his Champs would hunker down on the sofa for a few weeks, get some much needed R’n’R. But that’s not how Champions roll.
Here come Danny & The Champions Of The World writing themselves large, giving themselves the space,.

For his new Champions album Danny Wilson wanted something different, a collaborative effort that encouraged all the band members to contribute to the song writing process. So, over a period of months and a number of sessions, a collection of songs was accumulated and the end result is a mammoth 18 track, double album. 78 minutes of soulful country rock that gives the chance for all band members, plus a few more guests besides, to showcase their talents for the collective good.
