Waiting for a Train Lyrics.

Waiting for a Train" is the ninth single by the Australian group Flash and the Pan. It is taken from the album Headlines and was their most successful single, reaching number 7 on the UK Singles Chart in 1983. In 1989, a new version of the song, remixed by Harry Schulz and Kaplan Kaye and titled "Waiting for a Train '89 (The Harrymeetskaplan Mix)", was released in the UK on Cha Cha Records.

Headlines is the third album by Australian band Flash and the Pan, released in 1982. It includes the UK hit single "Waiting for a Train" which reached No. 7 in the charts in June 1983. At this time, Stevie Wright was officially a member of Flash and the Pan, making this version of the group close to an Easybeats revival; however, there is some doubt about how much Wright actually contributed to the recordings. He appears in the video to the song 'Where Were You' miming to George Young's voice.

Waiting For A Train lyrics: Wonder why it's getting cold at night I must be getting old Looks like I'm gonna have to wait a while What the hell, I'm bored What's that there on the railway line Looks like my old brown sh. Heading for a bright time. Who's that guy, I've seen his face before. Must be another face from Suzie's bar. It was different then. Ain't no way that I can fix this up. I've really lost the place.

surely one of the most perfect pop songs ever. a lilting groove that manages to be simultaneously both upbeat and melancholic, with a leitmotif that will follow you around all day and production that makes it sound great whether it's played on a portable radio or a pukka rig. definitely 5* from me :-)
