All the great songs and lyrics from the "The Rockin' Hammond of Milt Buckner" album ont he Web's largest and most authoritative lyrics resource. Milt Buckner (10 July 1915 – 27 July 1977) was an American jazz pianist and organist, originally from St. Louis, Missouri. He was orphaned as a child, but an uncle in Detroit (trombone player John Tobias) taught him to play. Buckner pioneered the parallel chords style which influenced Red Garland. ore . Year: 2009.

Milt Buckner was a roly-poly bundle of dynamite whose short legs couldn't quite reach his piano pedals, but his intensely animated bouncing while he played his solos and his great sense of humour won the hearts of all but the most petulant jazz critics. The versatile Buckner talent is here in spades on tunes like "Count's Basement", "One O'clock Jump", "The Late, Late Show" and "Jumpin' At The Woodside" showcasing Milt's one-man-ensemble organ style with a nod to Basie.
