Throughout his extensive career, the blues have always been close to his heart. This, the penultimate of his twelve albums on Crown Records, was issued in early 1963, (and later reissued as A Heart Full Of Blues"), although the tracks were probably recorded in late 1961 as part of the stockpiling process before . All these tracks are taken from a similar time period as the Crown album, and the overall small combo feel is retained throughout. After the relentless slow-shuffle, deep blues of the first ten tracks, it is good to encounter the uptempo drive of Your Good Lovin' Man, or the sheer joie de vivre of My Baby's An Angel and My Baby's Dynamite (no relation to Tampa Red's She's Dynamite, cut by .

Ewell Goldyn Rhambo, known as Bo Rhambo, (born September 21, 1923, Austin, Texas - November 24, 1988 in Los Angeles, California) is an American trumpeter and tenor saxophonist. Originally a trumpeter, he organized his band playing local dances and parties. He then went on to play tenor saxophone. In 1952, he played with Joe Houston, then in 1953 recorded with Joe Liggins

Since this, like many blues albums from the late '50s/early '60s, was a collection of singles, it's possible to find the key tracks, even the entire album, on the numerous Bobby "Blue" Bland collections released over the years, but this remains an excellent, essential blues album on its own terms - one of the greatest ever released. Two Steps from the Blues.

Not only did Blues-Rock guitarist, Stevie Ray Vaughan cover the song numerous times, he named his band, (Stevie Ray Vaughan) and Double Trouble in honor of Rush’s composition. John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers (featuring guitarist Peter Green, future member of the original Fleetwood Mac band) recorded a spectacular version of Double Trouble on the 1968 album, The Looking Back. Double Trouble was inducted into The Blues Foundation Hall of Fame in 2008. The idea for the album was inspired by Nanji during a conversation with Otis Taylor. According to Taylor, he and Nanji were discussing history backstage at an Experience Hendrix Tribute Tour, after Nanji finished his set. Nanji has been a member of the Hendrix Tour since 2002. In reference to his people, the Nakota Nation, Nanji made the statement My World Is Gone.
