Having first forged their legend giving away demo CDs recorded at a sprint, Arctic Monkeys stuck to what they knew with this spiky, five-track throat-clearer. And bring on the backlash, croaks Alex Turner before that song’s frenzied coda. That’s only half the story though. No Buses is a scratchy music-hall ballad for a new generation, and Cigarette Smoker Fiona takes another cacophonous, wry tour of small-town life after dark
Arctic Monkeys first ever EP self published through their own label Bang Bang. 1500 Cds and 1500 vinyl records were produced making the EP rare and highly desirable by fans. The songs on the EP were later re-recorded for their debut LP Whatever People Say I Am That’s What I’m Not. Five Minutes with Arctic Monkeys - EP Q&A. Producers Jim Abbiss.
