Menudo (Spanish synonym for "little"-and, in Puerto Rican Spanish, for "loose change") was a Puerto Rican-based, Latino boy band that was formed in the 1970s by producer Edgardo Díaz. Menudo was one of the biggest Latin boy bands in history, releasing their first album in 1977. The band achieved much success, especially during the 1980s, becoming the most popular Latin American teen musical group of the era. The group disbanded in 2009.
Ricky Martin, once a preteen member of the Latino boy band Menudo, is now a bona fide star, and he’s got a style evolution to show it. During his boy band days, Martin’s style was about as ’80s as you’d expect.
Evolución (Menudo album). This article has multiple issues. Please help improve it or discuss these issues on the talk page. This album features new member Ricky Martin. Ricky Martin replaced Ricky Meléndez, the last member to exit from the original line-up. Ricky Meléndez was nearing his 17th birthday when it was decided who was going to be his replacement. Ricky Martin wasn't their first choice. Tico Torres was the name of the kid that was already traveling with the group and being introduced as the new member of the group, but for unknown reasons it was decided to give Ricky Martin the position. This is also the last album Ray Reyes recorded as a member of the group.
Evolución is Menudo's 16th album (14th in Spanish).
As the last 6 pieces to complete the puzzle that is the De-Evolution series materialise – a whole emerges from the dark depths. The form that has slowly been de-evolving is now ready to be birthed from the chaotic primordial ooze in its entirety. Beware higher life forms. Look out so called ‘advanced creatures’. Rejoice amoeba, prions and plankton apes. De-Evolution is back to hit you with a cudgel and soothe you with crude howls. This album contains P., P. I and P. II of The Upbeats – De-Evolution.
