Children is the second regular studio album by the British rock-band The Mission. It was released in February 1988 by Mercury Records. Two singles were released from the album, "Tower of Strength" and "Beyond the Pale". A third single, "Kingdom Come", was scheduled but appeared as a promo-only. Singer Julianne Regan (from the band All About Eve) sang vocals on two tracks - "Beyond the Pale" and "Black Mountain Mist". The album was re-issued in 2007 with four bonus tracks.
Known as The Mission (UK) in the USA Having sold over 4 million albums, the band reformed to celebrate 25 years of The Mission. Hussey, Hinkler and Adams reunited in 2011 to kick start a new chapter of the band and continue to tour the world & release new material.
Somehow bands like New Model Army, Sisters of Mercy and The Mission evoke so much emotion and energy with their fans that it always results in pure electricity when both come together in a venue. Just like those bands mentioned, their fans have physically become thirty year older, but the passion somehow has not faded a single bit and maybe even has become stronger, which is fantastic because passion for music or any other form of art is not age related
I seem to remember Mick was the favourite with yours truly running a close 2nd. Well, we’re still here, alive and well and still going strong. It seems to me that anyone who survives past the age of 50 in this business these days is given honorary legendary status. This celebration is for them as much as it is for our retirement funds.
