A lively record by Teddy Brown's Band, with a vocal by Bobby Sanders, in 1927. When the band does play on its own, though, it shows that it was a very able and fine ensemble. Teddy Brown-x dir. t/tb/Alec Lajoie-Maurice Fisher (Fishberg)-p/Percy Martin-bj/William Vick-bb/Eddie Schaff-d/Bobby Sanders-v. Recorded in London c. Monday, 24th January 1927
The Ladder is the eighteenth studio album by the English rock band Yes, released in September 1999 on Eagle Records. Their only studio album recorded with six full-time members in its line-up, work began at the end of their one-year world tour in support of their previous album Open Your Eyes (1997) and in celebration of the band's thirtieth anniversary.
Jacob's Ladder (Hebrew: סולם יעקב Sulam Yaakov) is a ladder leading to heaven that was featured in a dream the biblical Patriarch Jacob had during his flight from his brother Esau in the Book of Genesis. The significance of the dream has been debated, but most interpretations agree that it identified Jacob with the obligations and inheritance of the people chosen by God, as understood in Abrahamic religions.
Teddy Brown (1900–1946) was an American entertainer who spent the latter part of his life performing in Britain. He was born Abraham Himmelbrand in 1900, and first played in the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, but moved to the field of popular music in the 1920s. He was noted for his rotund appearance, approaching 400 pounds in weight, and was often compared to (or considered the British answer to) another rotund band leader of the same era, Paul Whiteman. In 1927, the UK division of Lee de Forest's Phonofilm made a short film of Brown playing the xylophone.
I'm a little child, smile when you smile Joy when you're around and sad when you are down 'Cause I found love I want you next to me And I found life with you here. We made life warm, we were so happy then but You won't tell me everything's okay, hey We had love and I want it all again but I can see your heart change with the sun Even though you're done I still want you, I want you I still want you, I want you, I still want you. I want you, I still want you, I want you, I still want you I want you, I still want you, I still want you, I still want you I still want you, I still want you, I want you, I still want you. More on Genius.
But when you're cryin', you bring on the rain. Но когда ты плачешь, ты своими слезами вызываешь дождь. So stop that cryin', be happy again. The sun would-a come shining through. Солнечные лучи начинают пробиваться сквозь тучи. But when you're cryin', you bring on the rain. So stop that sighin', come on and be happy again.
