John Cale - Music For A New Society flac album

Complete your John Cale collection. Way overlooked, this album contains a large sum of The Maestros greatest works. A lot of it was written and recorded when Mr Cale was heavily self medicated and for when I understand is the main reason this out it's one he would like to forget. However every track is extremely from the heart and as genuine A musician and writer get. Whether they are of sound mind are nearly losing their mind.
That John Cale’s discography outside of his work with the Velvet Underground starts and ends with Paris 1919 is indeed a most impoverished viewpoint. Right up there is 1982’s oft overlooked Music For A New Society, which catches Cale on the verge of a nervous breakdown. With the item back in print on vinyl, along with a visceral new re-working album M: FANS, Martin Aston revisits Cale at his most anguished and fractured.
Music For A New Society is a music studio album recording by JOHN CALE (Prog Related/Progressive Rock) released in 1982 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. MFANS is another critically acclaimed album from John Cale that yet has to start speaking to me. It combines the mellowness of 1919 with an ill-fitting artsy pretension. Not the most exiting of combinations thinkable.
Music for a New Society was released in 1982 to critical acclaim and dire sales. It sounds like a 1982 record, so it can hardly be called ‘out of time’. Cale’s experimental studio techniques – much was improvised on tape – is pulled together by very eighties keyboards and big open spaces. Music for a New Society is an album that seems to come from an era of music for music’s sake that is being rediscovered now with a staggering kind of urgent lackadaisicalness by the internet generation. It seems that while U2 and Jay-Z worry about how the music industry will continue to make money, much more interesting artists are releasing music regardless, just because they can.
In 1982, Velvet Underground architect John Cale recorded Music for a New Society, an album of wrenching, d torch songs that prophesied a denatured dystopia. His compositions conjured a world somewhere between Blade Runner and Metropolis, full of vintage violence and hysterical laughter, homicidal mothers and greedy angels with broken wings exfoliating the crawling skin of God. Thirty-four years later, we may not quite be there yet, but you can see it from here.
John Cale, for his part, explored extremes throughout most of his career, engaging in the brilliant chamber-pop beauty of Paris 1919″ one moment, and delivering the most fucked-up cover of Heartbreak Hotel the next. His 1982 album Music for a New Society, though, is its own unique moment of quiet melancholy. It’s a work defined simultaneously by soft textures and defeated personalities.
Music for a New Society is the eighth solo studio album by Welsh musician John Cale, released in September 1982 by ZE Records and Island Records.
When John Cale looks back at his experimental solo album Music for a New Society, all he remembers is personal chaos and turmoil. Since exiting the Velvet Underground in 1968, he had explored different hues of art rock, minimalist classical music and straight-ahead rock on since-celebrated albums like 1973’s Paris 1919 and the following year’s Fear. The original intent of Music for a New Society was to imagine where music could go. How did you approach that challenge again? In those days, it was just how many different characters can you get into a record. I look back at it now, and it looks as if there are a lot of very similar characters. The claustrophobia comes from ideas that sound contradictory. On the new one, I just went for all those parts that I didn’t really think were quite as strong. Now, there were a lot of strong ideas in there, and I felt like I could ignore those and let them happen.
