CARNEGIE was a 6-piece American symphonic progressive rock band formed by the classically trained twins Mark and Clark Seymour. Mark and Clark had a quite successful career before CARNEGIE as The MARK & CLARK Band, but that's another story. CARNEGIE's line-up is quite unusual, as Mark and Clark are both Grand Piano players who played back to back at the concerts, their brother Scot is a Moog and Mellotron player in addition to the traditional Guitar, Bass Guitar and Drums. And that is what it is, a Rock and Roll Symphony! If you're into the good old progressive American bands from the 70's you will surely enjoy this album although the somewhat poor sound quality.

The Rock 'n Roll Symphony was Scott's most successful LP and was reissued twice during his lifetime under different titles, including the rather unfortunate choice of Warm Rain. The result is neither rock & roll nor symphony. It is rather plain, though elegant, mood music professionally scored, with a rhythm section consisting of piano, electric bass, and drums and the distinctive sound of saxophonist Sam "The Man" Taylor - a real plus to some expert listeners, though it might not make a difference to others. Occasionally the strings are a little overbearing, and that.

Rock and roll music first came to Carnegie Hall when Bill Haley & His Comets appeared in a variety benefit concert on May 6, 1955. Rock acts were not regularly booked at the Hall however, until February 12, 1964, when The Beatles performed two shows during their historic first trip to the United States. Promoter Sid Bernstein convinced Carnegie officials that. allowing a Beatles concert at the venue "would further international understanding" between the United States and Great Britain. Led Zeppelin became the first hard rock act to play Carnegie Hall since. The 2015–2016 Season celebrates a 125th Anniversary and the launch of an unprecedented commissioning project of at least 125 new works with 'Fifty for the Future" coming from Kronos (25 by female composers and 25 by male composers.

Rock and roll (often written as rock & roll or rock 'n' roll) is a genre of popular music that originated and evolved in the United States during the late 1940s and early 1950s, from a combination of African-American genres such as blues, boogie woogie, jump blues, jazz, and gospel music, together with Western swing and country music. Though elements of rock and roll can be heard in blues records from the 1920s and in country records of the 1930s, the genre did not acquire its name until the 1950s.
