In 1983, David Bowie's album Let's Dance reestablished him as one of rock's most powerful and charismatic performers, and his subsequent world tour was his most successful road trip ever. This DVD captures a night in Vancouver from the Serious Moonlight tour,1984, and includes the songs 'Let's Dance', 'China Girl', 'Heroes', 'Rebel Rebel', and 'Young Americans'. Serious Moonlight really introduced me to David Bowie when it aired on HBO, if i& not mistaken back in the 80&.I knew of him, but wasn& a fan until i saw Serious Moonlight. I think it& a must have for any Bowie fan.

The V&A holds a unique collection of David Bowie photographs, album sleeve artwork and memorabilia, charting the creative process of one of the most pioneering and influential performers of modern times. Managed to take a few photo's of David's costumes when I visited the 'David Bowie Is' exhibition in London this week. Here is the iconic 'Thin White Duke' outfit from his 'Isolar' tour 1976. I when to that exhibition too. It was awesome! It's a wonderful that you managed to take pictures though, when I went there were security guards all over the place in case you tried to take photos Great quality picture!

David Bowie is the self-titled debut studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on 1 June 1967, on Deram Records. Its content bears little overt resemblance to the type of music that later made him famous, such as the folk rock of "Space Oddity" or the glam rock of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

David Bowie’s Thin White Duke persona, 1976. Photograph: Gijsbert Hanekroot/Redferns. 25 The album also introduced Bowie’s most toxic alter ego, the Thin White Duke, an emotionless anorexic superman who echoed Thomas Jerome Newton, the literal alien he had played in Nic Roeg’s The Man Who Fell To Earth. 26 Famously subsisting only on cocaine, milk and red peppers, Bowie fell prey to old paranoid obsessions including UFO cover-ups, nazism and the occult while in Los Angeles. David Bowie plays the Milton Keynes Bowl in 1983 on the Serious Moonlight Tour. 45 In 2001 Bowie recorded a complete album of reworked old songs and new compositions inspired by his youth. Entitled Toy – possibly after the pejorative term for a johnny-come-lately mod – it remains unreleased.

Bowie’s early costumes for Ziggy Stardust were inspired by Milena Canonero’s costumes for Stanley Kubrick’s film A Clockwork Orange, which he saw on its release in 1971.
