His 12 Greatest Hits is a compilation album by Neil Diamond, issued in 1974 on the MCA record label. The album contains songs from his tenure with Uni Records, from 1968 to 1972. After Neil had signed to Columbia Records, his earlier works were reissued on MCA Records, which was the parent company of Uni Records which had folded in the early 1970s. All songs written and composed by Neil Diamond.

Neil Diamond's Greatest Hits is the first compilation album of songs recorded by Neil Diamond. It was released in 1968 by Bang Records after Diamond left Bang for Uni Records. Bang would eventually release four Neil Diamond compilation albums on top of the two original Diamond albums that Bang issued in 1966 and '67. Ten of the twelve songs on this album are original Diamond compositions with the remaining two cover versions of oldies.

Transitional variation. Very similar to Neil Diamond - Neil Diamond's Greatest Hits. Type, fonts appear to be identical, with the exception of "Side 1" and "Side 2" being in upper and lower case. Further; only side 1 label has "Div. of Web IV Music In. 1650 Broadway, New York, . on lower rim. Blue dot on top right back cover in image is a sticker and not printed. Matrix, Runout (Matrix Side 1 label): (WS 1004). Matrix, Runout (Matrix Side 2 label): (WS 1005).

I will eventually purchase this album. I have the vinly recordings of all Neil Diamond's hits and there are many more than here. But I do like the richness and clarity of this album.

His 12 Greatest Hits. Actually, His 12 Greatest Hits consists of 12 songs that were hits for Neil Diamond on Uni between 1969 and 1972. Cracklin' Rosie" is here, along with Diamond's other chart-topper of the period, "Song Sung Blue," and the Top Ten hits "Sweet Caroline" and "Holly Holy.
