Black Foundation Dub ‎(CD, Album, RE). Motion Records (2). FASTCD010. From my point of view this is one of the nicest dub-albums from the late 70s with great riddims of various sources and some wicked mixing by King Tubbs & Prince Philip. Title track is tuff as well as Gussie's re-work of "No No No" (the K. C. White version, which I even prefer against the Studio One original).

Black Foundation Dub was originally released solely in Jamaica back in 1977. The seminal album was built upon rhythms taken from a basketful of Gussie Clarke productions, all cut during the mid-'70s. These included such classics as .  . The sleeve notes help identify all the tracks and also give a fascinating bio of Clarke himself drawn from interviews.

Augustus "Gussie" Clarke (born 1954) is a reggae producer who worked with some of the top Jamaican reggae artists in the 1970s and later set up his own Music Works studio. Clarke started working in the music industry by cutting dub plates. He made his debut as a producer in 1972, with U-Roy's "The Higher The Mountain".
