Frampton Comes Alive! is a double live album by English rock musician Peter Frampton released in 1976. It is one of the best-selling live albums in the United States. Show Me the Way", "Baby, I Love Your Way", and "Do You Feel Like We Do" were released as singles. All three singles reached the Top 15 on the Billboard Hot 100, and frequently receive airplay on classic rock radio stations. Following four solo albums with little commercial success, Frampton Comes Alive! was a breakthrough for the artist.

As well as Frampton Comes Alive! has aged over the years, there’s also something bittersweet about it. In today’s Internet-driven age where YouTube has overtaken physical media as our go to fix for live music (in this article alone!), live records don’t carry the kind of power they once used to champion. Frampton wasn’t the first musician to have a double live album turn his fortunes around. It doesn’t seem to be the critical darling that Hawkwind’s Space Ritual is. Bob Seger's Live Bullet was already in the pipeline befor. omes Alive! was deep into its two year residency on the charts, so it can't be seen as jumping coattails.

Peter Frampton’s 1976 double-LP live album Frampton Comes Alive! is a touchstone of the era. It was a remarkable achievement and the apex of his career. His guitar playing is among the most underrated in rock. Frampton’s cover of Jumping Jack Flash is indicative of ‘70s arena rock, fleshed out with keyboards and long instrumental breaks. Somethin’s Happening, Doobie Wah and It’s a Plain Shame round out this moment in rock history. Frampton Comes Alive! (Deluxe Version) Peter Frampton.

Peter Frampton Conquers 'Stubbornness and Fear' for 'Acoustic Classics'. Frampton Comes Alive! bounced around the top 10 for the rest of 1976, logging a total of 10 weeks at No. 1, selling more than 6 million copies and breaking Carole King's sales record for Tapestry. Show Me the Way," which had stiffed when released as a single from Frampton, hit No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and introduced the Talk Box, a squawking guitar effect, to millions. Within Frampton's camp, surreal scenes began to unfold almost daily. A&M executive Bob Garcia was.

In my opinion, Frampton Comes Alive! is the 2nd best live album ever released next to the Allman Brothers Band's At Fillmore East. This was released during the great live album era of the mid to late 1970's. Live albums would bring excellent acts such as Bob Seger, Little Feat, and Cheap Trick to the next level and this live album made Peter Frampton a superstar. And this still holds up. You know why?

Frampton Comes Alive! II is a 1995 live album by English musician Peter Frampton. It is a sequel to his 1976 multiplatinum album Frampton Comes Alive. The title is styled as Frampton Comes Alive II on packaging. The album contains live versions of many of the songs from his 1980s and 1990s solo albums, consciously avoiding his 1970s hits. It was accompanied by a video release on VHS, recorded at The Fillmore in San Francisco on 15 June 1995.
