Australia suffered badly during the period of the Great Depression of the 1930s. As in other nations, Australia suffered years of high unemployment, poverty, low profits, deflation, plunging incomes, and lost opportunities for economic growth and personal advancement.

National Library of Australia, obj 144215072. Prosperity from the land. Australia experienced high inflation from 1919 to 1920 and then a severe recession until 1923. With the economy based on agricultural production, Australians identified prosperity with the land. Returned soldiers were resettled on rural blocks and more than 200,000 British immigrants arrived, many moving to country towns. However, the price of gold was over-estimated and British exports became more expensive on the world market. The Australian pound was valued in relation to the pound sterling and so Australian exports were also affected by this change. Wool prices dropped steadily from the mid-1920s and wheat fell precipitously from 1930. The value of Australia’s wheat and wool exports halved in 1929 and 1930. Bruce government falls.
Gash biography GASH is a 70s Krautrock band from Germany featuring the musical talents of Manfred Thiers on bass, Reinhard Schiemann on drums, percussion, Frank Feldhusen on guitars, vocals, and Jochen Peters on piano, organ, and lead vocals. The band have released studio album in 1972, "A Young Man's Gash". The music is a definitive taste of the underground hard rock oriented sound churned out of the German Krautrock era. The music is replete with catchy songs, keyboard, organ and guitar solos and an overriding hard driving energy.

Gash is an excellent album but unfortunately it is not without flaws, which is why I often say in some ways . keeps getting better and better as he pumps out more albums but in others, kind of worse. They Are Not So True is pretty offensive to all five senses, and Steal Your Life Away is more than bland. Mutapump is a fitting closer though, and well, everything else here makes up for it. I have no idea whilst I felt such hostility towards Gash when I first listened to it, as when . has his moments, I always find them thrilling ones.
