Dream Theater will gather in the studio to start work on their 14th album in a couple of months, frontman James LaBrie reported in a new interview. The band hope the follow-up to 2016’s The Astonishing will be released early next year. We’re gonna start back in the studio in June – just all be together and writing and working on the new album, LaBrie told the Lead Singer Syndrome podcast (audio below). We’re hoping that the album will be out, let’s say, February of 2019. And then we’re looking, at this point, that we’d start the next world tour next March
The only Dream Theatre's album that I can listen to in it's entirety. Albums following this bores me to death with the exception of few tracks here and there (SDOIT, SoC, Panic Attack, & MoLS). The standard is just so high, it blows my mind every time. Sure, many of their other albums are also good (sometimes great), but none come close to this. The definitive Dream Theater album, a must hear for every music lover! There are so many good Dream Theater albums that it was a hard decision but I really had to go with this one. It had the best atmosphere

Classic status. windpipe This album has got such a sense of glee about it, even while it's dealing with some gritty issues. I love trying to rap "The city" it's so satisfying. I tried writing down the lyrics to "Gimme that" - no chance!
