Home" is Depeche Mode's thirty-third UK single, released on 16 June 1997, and the third single from the album Ultra. Martin Gore sings the track, rather than usual lead vocalist Dave Gahan. Home" (Jedi Knights remix (Drowning in Time)) (7:02). Home" (Air "Around the Golf" remix) (3:57). Home" (LFO Meant to Be) (4:26). Home" (Grantby mix) (4:39) (remixed by Dan Grigson/Grantby).

With the two top 5 singles and the N. album "Ultra" already under their belt this year Depeche Mode release a new single on June 16 on Mute. The single, "Home", an epic string-drenched ballad, sees songwriter Martin Gore taking over vocal duties from Dave Gahan. Home" has been remixed by Jedi Knights, LFO, Air, Skylab and Creation's new signing Grantby

Here is a song From the wrong side of town Where I'm bound To the ground By the loneliest sound That pounds from within And is pinning me down. Here is a page From the emptiest stage A cage or the heaviest cross ever made A gauge of the deadliest trap ever laid. And I thank you For bringing me here For showing me home For singing these tears Finally I've found That I belong here. The heat and the sickliest Sweet smelling sheets That cling to the backs of my knees And my feet But I'm drowning in time To a desperate beat.

Depeche Mode ‎– Home. This disc also contains remixes, of which AIR definitely take centre stage for their typically Moon Safari-esque take. All in all, a great single from Depeche Mode. Some may say this album (Ultra) marked the critical end of their career, but I do hope to hear more from the band in the years to come. Responder Notifícame 2 Helpful.

Charted: 23 88. Get the Sheet Music License This Song. its perfect because Gore sings them instead of Gahan. It was written around the time Gahan got really sick and the band almost broke up for good.

Home is a somewhat forgotten Depeche Mode single, coming after the huge impact that "Barrel Of A Gun" and "It's No Good" had obtained through the sheer shock that Dave Gahan wasn't actually dead after all.Dave was very much alive, thank god, and those first two singles from Ultra certainly proved that point. However, the third single was this, "Home". Continuing the long tradition of (albeit sparsely seeded) Martin Gore fronted singles, Home is without doubt a highlight of Ultra.Starting off with a sick downtempo rhythm that is not unlike Massive Attack, it slowly progresses cooly into the first verse. It is soulful (as usual for Martin), and once he reaches the chorus it really takes hold. A very strong song indeed, it does indeed bring similarities with the aforementioned Massive Attack, especially their remix of Garbage's Milk.It is difficult to compare this single mix to the album version as they are almost identical, but much like the single mix of Useless it is obvious upon comparison to favour the single mix. I would not usually do this with Depeche Mode single edits, but really with Home and Useless they really do improve upon their original album counterparts. This disc also contains remixes, of which AIR definitely take centre stage for their typically Moon Safari-esque take. Lovely indeed. All in all, a great single from Depeche Mode. Some may say this album (Ultra) marked the critical end of their career, but I do hope to hear more from the band in the years to come.Perhaps if Martin can allow Alan back into the fold things will improve...
