And there is a fabulous cut-up piece of Meek art called "Crazy Drums" that is really hard to believe came from 1961. Then, right at the end, the Outlaws decided to go vocal. Their singing wasn't much to remember, but their screaming rock 'n roll sound sure was. This is when Ritchie Blackmore broke from his restraints and their versions of "Keep a Knockin'" and "Shake with Me" blow out your speakers.

Album The Outlaws Ride Again. The second Outlaws single is bookended by sound effects of gunshots and horses, adding to the western effect Joe Meek intended for the Outlaws to produce. Sound effects, beloved by Meek, appear once more in the middle of the song, reminding the listener again of the titular ambush. The music, even more so than their previous single Swingin' Low, depicts life in the old west.

The Singles is a compilation album/box set by The Doors, released on September 15, 2017. The collection contains both the A-sides and B-sides of all 20 US singles released between 1967 and 1983

The Outlaws latched onto their Southern heritage by way of Florida, threw in some harmony by way of the Eagles, and then wrote a number of songs that played to their strengths. The result was - and is - a good classic rock & roll album. Several of the Outlaws' best songs are present here, including "There Goes Another Love Song," "Green Grass and High Tides," and "Song for Yo. Hughie Thomasson only sings lead on these three songs, but since two of them were the best-known Outlaw songs, it is his voice that is most associated with the band.
