Artist: The National. Take us down and all apart. Lay us out on the table. You're sharp alright. But no one is asking to leave it alone.
The National – Cherry Tree. Label: Brassland – HWY-008. Format: Vinyl, 12", 33 ⅓ RPM, EP, Reissue. my copy did not come with a poster either. also as leonthepro mentioned the album certainly has excessive surface noise which sort of takes away from the album. still appreciate it but could be pressed a lot better. Before starting to work my way through the albums of The National, I always sort of assumed that Cherry Tree would be a turning point for the band, and holy shit, I was right. The instrumentation throughout Cherry Tree is simply extraordinary, and the addition of viola and violin - played by Padma Newsome - makes such a difference, turning every song into a grandiose experience. Throughout Cherry Tree, I was constantly impressed with the guitars,.
