Kermit The Frog - Bein' Green.
Kermit the Frog is a Muppet character and Jim Henson's best-known creation. Introduced in 1955, Kermit serves as the straight man protagonist of numerous Muppet productions, most notably Sesame Street and The Muppet Show, as well as in other television series, films, specials, and public service announcements through the years. Henson originally performed Kermit until his death in 1990; Steve Whitmire performed Kermit from that time up until his dismissal from the role in 2016.
Bein' Green" (also known as "It's Not Easy Bein' Green") is a popular song written by Joe Raposo, originally performed by Jim Henson as Kermit the Frog on both Sesame Street and The Muppet Show. It was later covered by Frank Sinatra and other performers. In the Muppets version, Kermit begins by lamenting his green coloration, expressing that green "blends in with so many ordinary things" and wishing to be some other color
It's not easy bein' green. It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things. And green can be cool and friendly-like. And green can be big like an ocean, or important like a mountain, or tall like a tree. When green is all there is to be It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why? Wonder, I am green and it'll do fine, it's beautiful! And I think it's what I want to be.
Andrew Bird ponders Kermit the Frog. Cameron Wittig/Walt Disney Records. Andrew Bird ponders Kermit the Frog. It's not easy being green. Some of us know that better than others. And, though singer, fiddler and whistler Andrew Bird knows that this is Kermit's song to own, he decided to tackle it in a way that only Bird could, as part of a charming Muppets tribute record called The Green Album. But it's Kermit, so he reins it in back to feeling pretty good about being green. The song shows us how to celebrate what makes us different, even indulge some delusions of grandeur, but in the end temper them with humility. In the Muppets version, Kermit begins by lamenting his green coloration, expressing that green "blends in with so many ordinary things" and wishing to be some other color.
Instruments: Voice, range: Bb3-C5 Piano Guitar. It's not that easy bein' green, having to spend each day the color of the leaves, when I think it could be nicer bein' red or yellow or gold or something much more colorful like that.
