An album that supposed David’s spiritual discovery. Carlos Alomar, David’s guitarist by the time, said in 2006, as Paolo Hewitt’s book said: It was incredible the dose of experimentation that was in that album. Years later, Bowie said that he couldn’t remember things about the Station to Station era because of his addiction to cocaine and work. As Paolo Hewitt’s book says, Geoff MacCormack said in 2007: In that epoch, David became a nocturnal creature

Station to Station Lyrics. The return of the Thin White Duke Throwing darts in lovers' eyes. Here are we, one magical moment Such is the stuff, from where dreams are woven Bending sound, dredging the ocean Lost in my circle Here am I, flashing no color Tall in this room overlooking the ocean Here are we, one magical movement From Kether to Malkuth There are, you drive like a demon From station to station. David Bowie was painfully and intimately aware of the tension between the desire to experience deep feelings and the desire to attain cold safety–frequently by being an alien, outside, and aloof. Arguably that kind of tension lies close to the center of addictive behaviors, and it’s no coincidence that this song was written in the height of Bowie’s cocaine use.

Station to Station is the 10th studio album by English musician David Bowie, released by RCA Records in 1976. Commonly regarded as one of his most significant works, Station to Station was the vehicle for his performance persona, the Thin White Duke. The album was recorded after he completed shooting Nicolas Roeg's The Man Who Fell to Earth, and the cover artwork featured a still from the movie

Released: January1976 Label: RCA Producers: David Bowie, Harry Maslin. Station to Station was another album that had the original sleeve withdrawn just before release in the US and the UK. The withdrawn-by-Bowie colour version even went as far as being illustrated in RCA pre-release promotional material and some copies of the printed slick even made it to record stores in the UK for display purposes

Before performing Station to Station‘s melancholy Word on a Wing, he added that the song was unwittingl. signal of distress; I’m sure that it was a call for help. And yet, according to guitarist Carlos Alomar, when Bowie and the band hit Cherokee Studios to make a new album in the fall of 1975, all of the havoc was left at the door. When we were in work mode, it was always about the work, he says. If it was fueled by coke or by whatever, David was always able to manage the decision-making. And it was always the same concern for him: ‘What are the lyrics, and what am I going to talk.

Station To Station (оригинал David Bowie). От станции к станции (перевод ). The return of the Thin White Duke. You drive like a demon. from station to station. В глаза влюблённых (2 раза).

Abandoning any pretense of being a soulman, yet keeping rhythmic elements of soul, David Bowie positions himself as a cold, clinical crooner and explores a variety of styles.

I bought my copy graded VG+ and it sounds truly impressive. Much more full and detailed in comparing to my US 1st pressing. Surface noise is almost nom-existent.An awesome pressing of a great album!
  • Nayatol
