Pretzel Logic is the third studio album by the American rock band Steely Dan, released on February 20, 1974, by ABC Records. It was the final album to feature the full five-member band of Becker, Fagen, Denny Dias, Skunk Baxter, and Jim Hodder, and also featured significant contributions from many prominent Los Angeles-based studio musicians.
Pretzel Logic" is a song written by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen that was released as a single by Steely Dan from their album Pretzel Logic, originally released in 1974 by ABC Records. It reached number 57 in the Billboard charts. Fagen has stated that the lyrics, including anachronistic references to Napoleon and minstrel shows, are about time travel.
Song "Through with Buzz" Lyrics. album "Pretzel Logic". Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber. A Whole New World (End Title).
Steely Dan. Produced by Gary Katz. Through With Buzz Lyrics. He takes all my money You know I'm through with Buzz Yes I'm through with Buzz All right, oh yeah, uh huh. He's not very funny You know I'm through with Buzz Yes I'm through with Buzz All right, oh yeah, uh huh. I remember when he stole my girl Drug her all around the world You know I'm cool, yes I feel alright Except when I'm in my room and it's late at night. Maybe he's a fairy You know I'm through with Buzz Yes I'm through with Buzz All.
In 1974 Steely Dan released "Pretzel Logic," their third album. It raced straight up the charts like a fairground skyrocket to peak at and it seemed like the whole music community stood back en masse to ooh and ahh over it. I, frankly, thought it was okay but less than overwhelming. Their quirky sense of humor resurfaces in "Through With Buzz," an incredibly brief, off-beat song about a guy being in an unspecified state of denial about his relationship with a male acquaintance. I really like the clever string quartet score that dances around the melody. I'm not big on the blues but by the time the soulful pitch and roll of "Pretzel Logic" arrives I'm more than ready to rock the joint and this one packs more punch than the rest of the album put together.
Pretzel Logic, the third Steely Dan, is another great record. I cannot describe how delighted I was when I got the LP back home to my apartment, threw it onto the turntable and immediately realized that Fagen and Becker had done it again. The ten songs are concise (the whole LP is just 34 minutes long) yet complex lyrically and musically. This record is unmistakably a studio effort. Although the musicians are first rate, I do miss the band "feel"
