The Great Songs from "My Fair Lady" and Other Broadway Hits is the fifteenth studio album by American pop singer Andy Williams and was released in September 1964 by Columbia Records, one month before the premiere of the film version of My Fair Lady starring Audrey Hepburn. The album made its first appearance on Billboard magazine's Top LP's chart in the issue dated September 26 of that year and remained on the album chart for 33 weeks, peaking at number five.

My Fair Lady" is the best and most unlikely of musicals, during which I cannot decide if I am happier when the characters are talking or when they are singing. The songs are literate and beloved; some romantic, some comic, some nonsense, some surprisingly philosophical, every single one wonderful. The dialogue by Alan Jay Lerner wisely retains a great deal of "Pygmalion" by George Bernard Shaw, himself inspired by Ovid's Metamorphosis.

My Fair Lady is-deservedly-one of the most famous musicals of all time. Its popular 1964 film version, directed by George Cukor, has ensured that for most people Audrey Hepburn is Eliza Doolittle, while Broadway-heads swear by Julie Andrews's stage performance, immortalized on the 1956 cast album. Given her love of musicals, I'd come up with a great (for me, anyway!) idea a couple of years ago for her birthday - she'd always had a fondness for the Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals, so I put a collection together for her that she very much enjoyed.
