Blender is the fifth studio album by the American rock band Collective Soul. The album is considered by many to be the band's most pop-oriented album to date. This was their final album for Atlantic Records and also their least successful with the label. All songs written by Ed Roland, except where noted. Ross Childress – lead guitar, backing vocals. Shane Evans – drums, percussion. Ed Roland – lead vocals, guitar, keyboards. Dean Roland – rhythm guitar.

Mixed By – Bob St. JohnWritten-By – Mark Sandman. 8. –Collective Soul Featuring Elton John. A&R – Steve Davis (15). Art Direction – Arick Chikiamco. Engineer – Karyadi Sutedja.

Aside from the coldly pop nature of the album, there is the duet with Elton John - for which the mix is inexplicably softened to something approaching the mushy end of AOR, which is very much the place that people saw John inhabiting through 1999-2000. The end result is hardly distinctive enough to be of interest.

So here is Collective Soul's fifth release "Blender". Another meticulously well produced effort by the band's frontman Ed Roland. I suspect that since their last cd, 1999's "Dosage", was ignored by radio and MTV/VH1, that the same fate will befall "Blender". As long as Collective Soul remains an underground fan's band I hope they continue to bring us great music like they have over the past seven years  . This album may have gotten the band off people's radars. Which caused them to miss phenomenal later releases Youth, Afterwords, Welcome All Again & Collective Soul (otherwise known as Rabbit).
