Show more sharing options. Houses of the Holy’ (1975). Recorded for the album of the same name, this stomping come-on was shelved for sounding too much like "Dancing Days," and resurrected for Physical Graffiti. Page sprays shrapnel while Plant evokes fertility rites and drugged-out tarot readings. Rick Rubin has called it "one of their most compact-feeling songs. The signature power ballad on Led Zeppelin IV towers over Seventies rock like a monolith. From the Elizabethan ambience of its acoustic introduction to Plant's lyrical mysticism to Page's spiraling solo, the eight-minute song is a masterpiece of slow-reveal intensity that withholds power, then ascends skyward like nothing in rock.

Jimmy Page has marked the 50th anniversary of the inception of ‘Led Zeppelin I’ by shedding new light on its first recording session. Much has been speculated about the initial recordings, so I thought it would be useful to show the worksheet from RAK that gives the dates and times that we were scheduled initially to go in. It makes fascinating reading. You can see a screengrab of the timesheet here

Led Zeppelin is the debut album by English rock band Led Zeppelin. It was released on 12 January 1969 in the United States and on 31 March in the United Kingdom by Atlantic Records. The album was recorded in September and October 1968 at Olympic Studios, London, shortly after the band's formation. It contains a mix of original material worked out in the first rehearsals, and remakes and rearrangements of contemporary blues and folk songs

Led Zeppelin's 1977 North American Tour was the eleventh and final concert tour of North America by the English rock band. The tour was divided into three legs, with performances commencing on 1 April and concluding on 24 July 1977. The tour was originally intended to finish on 13 August, but was cut short following the death of Robert Plant's son. This was the first tour embarked on by the band following their enforced lay-off caused by Plant's car accident in Greece in 1975.

Led Zeppelin had split immediately following the death of drummer John Bonham in 1980. Prior to the 2007 event, they had appeared together only twice since then, and neither performance was a success. Singer Robert Plant called their first reunion at Live Aid in 1985 an atrocity ; he said their Atlantic 40th-anniversary show in 1988 was foul. They desperately needed this new show to be much bigger and much better. Five years after the O2 show (just as Bonamassa was reaching his decision), the release of the Led Zeppelin concert movie presented the chance for a reunion in front of the press, if not for a performance. Celebration Day, not so surprisingly, triggered a new spike in speculation. Plant, who by that time had toured and recorded with his Band of Joy and then moved on to debut his new group, the Sensational Space Shifters, remained relatively firm about never going back to Led Zeppelin.

Incredibly, the album was released just seven months after Led Zeppelin in October of 1969. Led Zeppelin II features some of the band’s most beloved tracks including Ramble On and Heartbreaker as well as Whole Lotta Love, considered by many to be one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll songs of all time. The album is certified diamond by the RIAA with sales of over 12 million copies

Somehow the soundboard recorded the guitar section very quietly. Therefore the tracks feel calmer than they really are. On the other hand vocals and the drums are very clean.
