In 2010 the band went into the studio to record their second album The Quietest Place on Earth. Complications and member changes delayed the release of this record until 2012 when Grant Warner and Brad Garnam left the band and Matt Harvey (ex Omeratá) joined on guitars after receiving a last minute call from vocalist Chris Torpy, who aked him to come to a rehearsal. A short time after the band joined with Bird's Robe Records Departure Songs. In 2015 the band recorded and released their third LP Departure Songs initially through Bird's Robe Records and Art As Catharsis Records in Australia.
Overall, We Lost The Sea’s 2012 record climbs to the height of the genre. The Quietest Place On Earth is a rich listen, with an integral depth that would usually take multiple listens to understand. This hour long affair is atmospheric and instrumentally top notch. From start to finish, The Quietest Place On Earth is a ride of despair, aggression and melancholy filled to the brim with emotion. It’s an album both wonderful and devastating in design. Chris Torpy, the man behind the microphone who conveyed his passion and despair (even cited by the band as an outlet for his depression that eventually led to his suicide) giving life to the band’s two records.
We Lost The Sea. Album The Quietest Place On Earth. Where are you queen of the moon? I've dreamt of mosaic landscapes, and skies full of diamonds Hanging low over valleys In which new life runs thick Where delicate whispers set sail into the wind Assuring that I have found, and become middle earth And centuries will pass and fade at rabid pace For the giving to the soil, we worship the land And this lucid way of rest. is how I want to remain Converging through the void, finally passing on Contently, with grace
