Complete your Deep Purple collection. Powerhouse is a compilation: "Painted Horse" is a leftover track of the "Who do we think we are" sessions in 1973; "Hush", "Wring that neck" and "Child in time" were recorded live at the Royal Albert Hall in September 1969 in connection with the "Concerto"; "Black Night" was recorded live in Japan during the 1972 tour; "Cry free" is a leftover track from.

Deep Purple (Deep Purple album). Deep Purple, also referred to as Deep Purple III, is the third studio album by the English rock band Deep Purple, released in June 1969 on Tetragrammaton Records in the United States and only in September 1969 on Harvest Records in the United Kingdom. Its release was preceded by the single "Emmaretta" and by a long tour in the UK, whose dates were interspersed between the album's recording sessions.

One of the many compilation album to keep the cash flowing as Purple had folded, this is a relatively interesting one for its track selection.

1968 - Shades of Deep Purple. 1968 - The Book Of Taliesyn. 1969 - Concerto For Group And Orchestra. 1969 - Deep Purple (April).

Deep Purple - Powerhouse (1977). 1968 - 1976, 1984 - Present). Deep Purple's 2nd incarnation (Mk 2) emerged from a low-key beginning to become one of the best and most successful rock bands of all time. By early 1973 'Made In Japan' was becoming Deep Purple's biggest seller to date in the USA, and the hitherto almost ignored 'Machine Head' album track 'Smoke On The Water' was making an impact in their singles charts. Even though it did not reach the heights of its predecessors, the last Mk 2 studio release 'Who Do We Think We Are' appeared in March '73 and helped Deep Purple become the world's top selling album act of 1973
