This page is a discography for the musician Mike Oldfield. Although the introduction theme was used in The Exorcist, Tubular Bells (1973) was not a soundtrack album. Oldfield was commissioned to produce the music for NASA's The Space Movie in 1979; no soundtrack album was released at the time. However a DVD and CD soundtrack (though the CD content is just the audio track from the DVD, including voiceovers and sound effects) were issued in October 2015.

The Studio Albums 1992-2003. After a tumultuous parting from his first label, Virgin, famed British new age artist/composer Mike Oldfield signed an extensive deal with Warner Bros which would carry him into the next millennium. His first act at Warner was to deliver 1992's Tubular Bells II, the instrumental sequel to his groundbreaking 1973 debut. Over the coming decade, he would release seven more albums with the label ranging in style from Celtic to worldbeat to dance-oriented music

Mike Oldfield will release a box set comprised of eight studio albums this October. The box set is titled The Studio Albums 1992-2003 and it brings albums he released on Warner Bros Records. These include: Tubular Bells II, The Songs Of Distant Earth, Voyager, Tubular Bells III, Guitars, The Millennium Bell, Tr3s Lunas and Tubular Bells 2003. A brief statement reads: Mike says ‘hello’ and sends his love. He’s made a mix for you from The Lake, with just guitars and bass, and he invites you to make your own versions of it. He says he’s not much good at interviews or selfless, so there will not.

A Mike Oldfield box set of the Warner era will be issued in October this year. The Studio Albums 1992-2003 gathers together the eight albums released on the label, starting with 1992’s follow-up to the seminal Tubular Bells and ending again with that same album but this time the 2003 re-recording. In between are two further TB-related albums – Tubular Bells III (1998) and The Millennium Bell (1999). The other four albums are 1994’s The Songs Of Distant Earth, Voyager from 1996, Guitars (1999) and Tr3s Lunas which was issued in 2002

Mike Oldfield has had a lengthy and successful career as a composer and musician, one which started in a big way when he released his first album, Tubular Bells, back in 1973. Unfortunately, that’s also the album where most Americans’ recognition of his music starts and stops: despite the fact that the album in question actually hit on the Billboard Top 200 (thanks in no small part to the title track’s prominence in The Exorcist), Oldfield has never released any other effort in the States that’s come anywhere close to matching. The Studio Albums: 1992-2003 features eight – count ‘em! – eight albums by Oldfield, and for most folks on this side of the Atlantic, they’re likely to be an all-new listening experience. Fortunately, even if your only frame of reference to Oldfield isTubular Bells, you’re still in a position to ease into the proceedings, since the first album is, in fact, a sequel to that album.
