Ampol Aires Polka band - on the World Music stage - Labor Day weekend. Join us at the Taste of Polonia for great LIVE MUSIC on 4 stages - Copernicus Center. Way back in the early 1950’s there was a very popular band called the Eddie Zima Orchestra which was comprised of Eddie Zima, concertina, Andy Day, trumpet, Wally Glowicki and Roman Travers, clarinet and sax, Frank Barwig, piano and Rudy Sienkowski, drums. The boys had their parting of ways with Eddie Zima in 1954 and thus the Ampol Aires were born. Tom Kula, concertina, clarinet and sax, was added to the group to make the band complete. Dick Zimber, bass fiddle joined the group a couple of years later
Ampol Aires, The - They Keep Going and Going. Lorain's Polka Sharps Orchestra. Norm Dombrowski and the Happy Notes. Pat Zoromski and the Boys From Polonia.
Hymn to Life is the second solo album by Timo Tolkki. Unlike the first one, Classical Variations and Themes, Hymn to Life does not present Tolkki as a fast and classical heavy metal guitarist, but as a diverse songwriter. The album deals with Tolkki's personal beliefs and thoughts about life and encourages the listener to believe in him/herself. Despite some song names, Tolkki uses strong criticism against religions.
