Outsider (Three Days Grace album). Outsider is the sixth studio album by Canadian rock band Three Days Grace. It was released on March 9, 2018 through RCA Records. The album was produced by two of the band's prior producers, Gavin Brown and Howard Benson but also by members of the band themselves. It is the second album to feature Matt Walst as lead vocalist. The album was preceded by the release of its first single, "The Mountain".
The Outsider is a solo project born in 2009 in Palermo, Italy. I'm Andrea Cicala and I produce music since I was 14. Throughout the years I discovered genres such as Post Rock, Progressive and Ambient. I released a few records but Beauty Awakens The Soul to Act can be considered my very first mature work. Now I've released my latest one's called Hyeon and I'm starting to write again.
Rock band Black Veil Brides thrive on The Outsider, the promo single from their highly-anticipated, comeback album, ‘Vale. The Outsider initiates with fire, thanks to the ripe sounding lead guitar. The wall of sound created by the guitars is awesome – epic, devastating, and dynamic. There are some tremendous, jagged riffs, and following the majority of the lyrics, a short, but thrilling guitar solo. Safe to say, the music is magnificent. Once he enters, Andy Six, ‘blesses’ the track with his signature pipes, in all their husky glory. Vocally and lyrically, he paints a stellar portrait of being the outsider.
I Am The Outsider," premiering exclusively here, defines both the theme of Three Days Grace's upcoming album Outsider (out March 9) and the Canadian band's lyrical outlook in general. We've always written about being the odd person out and being comfortable with that," drummer Neil Sanderson tells Billboard. I think there's a common thread that talks about how to navigate your way through modern life and being bombarded by information and feelings and beliefs," Sanderson explains. It's pretty impossible to ignore, but I think the record contemplates how to wake up and be yourself and not succumb to all the distractions and influences around you, but without just disappearing from the face of the Earth. Outsider - Three Days Grace's second effort with frontman Matt Walst, who replaced Adam Gontier during 2013 - represented a change in working methods for the quintet.

With this album, I definitely felt more comfortable in the writing process and also in the vocal booth. I felt way more comfortable and way more confident after having three years of hard touring and just settling into the band. I think vocally, I definitely had more work on the road - longer shows and higher ranges to hit. Then jumping into the vocal booth with Howard Benson. He is a genius when it comes to harmonies and call backs and all of that.

THE OUTSIDER is the type of album that you can just lean back and listen to. There is a little of everything. In between there is a complete album of good, varied modern blues songs with a strong common undercurrent of Knowles’ extraordinary rock-infused guitar and vocals. THE OUTSIDER is an outstanding first-listen and just gets better every time around. Davy Knowles’ music may be fairly new compared to the great sounds of Buddy Guy and Muddy Waters, but, his music will be timeless. His influences are apparent, yet individual, while his sound is reminiscent, yet unique
