Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso Ufo (PSF, 1997) is a manifesto that presents the different facets of psychedelic music that Kawabata would explore in the rest of his career. Satori LSD launches into another percussive maelstrom, this time with an underlying swinging rhythm a& la Ten Years After. The album closes enigmatically with a loud television hiss (Acid Mothers Temple For All). Unfortunately, Pataphisical Freak Out Mu (PSF, 1999 - Eclipse, 2002)(yes, the title is misspelled) surrendered quite a bit to the forces of reason. With less overdrive and less electronics, the jams tend to quote the classics.
In May, the Acid Mothers Temple toured the UK and Ireland. The first date in Nagoya and the final date in Osaka featured the twin drum attack of Ichiraku Yoshimitsu and Koizumi Hajime. ACID MOTHERS TEMPLE mode HHH (Kawabata Makoto, Tsuyama Atsushi and Yoshida Tatsuya of Ruins) toured Europe (Norway, Sweden, Poland, Austria, Germany, UK, Netherland, Belgium, France, Spain, Switzerland, Greece, Italy) as part of Japanese New Music Festival tour in October and November. They performed an improvised soundtrack to the Ira Cohen's film "The Invasion of Thunderbolt Pagoda" at Kill Your Timid Nortion festival in Dandee Scotland.

Acid Mothers Temple are so far out that they exist in a region of space and time in which no other particle of matter in the universe can reach. We watched them last night at the Band on the Wall in Manchester (20 Oct 2015). An unbelievable gig; will travel far to see these again.
