In Greek mythology, the Minotaur is a mythical creature portrayed in Classical times with the head and tail of a bull and the body of a man or, as described by Roman poet Ovid, a being "part man and part bull". He dwelt at the center of the Labyrinth, which was an elaborate maze-like construction designed by the architect Daedalus and his son Icarus, on the command of King Minos of Crete. The Minotaur was eventually killed by the Athenian hero Theseus.

From this union the monster Minotaur was born, a humanoid being with a bull's head, which Minos promptly jailed in the Labyrinth, an enormous construction in Knossos.
Summary of the story of Theseus: The Minotaur and the Labyrinth. Overview and detailed summary of Theseus: The Minotaur and the Labyrinth by PhD students from Stanford, Harvard, Berkeley. Theseus manages to slay the Minotaur with the help of the beautiful Cretan princess, Ariadne, whom he ends up marooning on an island on the way back to Greece. As Theseus approaches Athens, he's so full of himself that he forgets to change the sail of is ship to white. A Detailed Summary: There's a ton of bad blood between Athens and the island kingdom of Crete. See, a while ago, the Cretan Prince Androgeos came to Athens and totally rocked out a bunch of Olympic style games.
Bangrivar was a fearsome prince of a minotaur kingdom that faded from history long ago, and he was buried in a valley tomb carved from the cliffs by legions of slaves. According to legend, Bangrivar was buried with a great treasure that would one day usher in Baphomet's rise in the mortal realm.
Theseus killed Minotaur in the Labyrinth of Crete and escaped with Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos of Crete. According to the myth, Minos was imprisoning his enemies in the Labyrinth so that the Minotaur could eat them. The labyrinth was such a complicated construction that no one could ever find the way out alive. Son of Minos, Androgeus, went to Athens to participate to the Panathenaic Games, but he was killed during the Marathon by the bull that impregnated his mother Pasiphae. Minos was infuriated, and demanded Aegeus the king of Athens to send seven men and women every year to the Minotaur to advert the plague caused by the death of Androgeus. This is the best version of this myth I’ve found so far for my literature report.
